Temperature
Konjac likes warm and humid climates, suitable for growing temperatures between 20-35 degrees Celsius. Too high or too low a temperature will affect the growth of konjac.
Light
Konjac likes plenty of light, but can not be directly exposed to strong sunlight, the appropriate light intensity of 1500-2000 (Lux).
Soil fertility
To support healthy growth and foliage production, provide Konjac with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer during the growing season. Konjac has high requirements for soil fertility, preferring soft, fertile soil rich in organic matter. pH value of 5.5-6.5 is suitable.
Rainfall
Konjac needs sufficient water to maintain growth, the appropriate rainfall is between 1000-1500 mm.
Air Circulation
Adequate air circulation is essential for Konjac’s overall health. Ensure that the plants have sufficient space between them to allow for proper airflow, reducing the risk of fungal diseases.
Heat-resistant temperature
Konjac is more sensitive to heat, and suitable heat-resistant temperature between 30-35 degrees Celsius.
Cold-tolerant temperature
konjac is more tolerant of cold, cold-tolerant temperature can be as low as 0 degrees Celsius.
Dormancy
Konjac plants have a natural dormant period during which they require reduced watering and cooler temperatures.
This period typically occurs in the winter months. Allow the plant to rest by reducing watering and placing it in a cooler location with temperatures around 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 59°F) until new growth emerges.
By providing the appropriate growing conditions outlined above, you will create an environment in which Konjac can thrive and produce its distinctive leaves and tubers.
